Hot
Taps
Hot Taps or pressure taps are different
names for the same process. Hot Taps allow for a
new branch connection without shut down of your
piping system. Hot Taps are performed while your
system remains live and under working pressure
without any interruption of flow or services.
Hot Tap connections can be performed on a
multitude of line contents, such as hydrogen,
hot and chilled water, steam, syltherm, natural
gas, brine as well as many other elements.
Pro Tapping performs Hot Taps from 3/4"
to 36", 360° around the main. Hot Taps are
generally performed on carbon, stainless and
galvanized steel, copper and brass, fiberglass
and specialized materials used in refineries and
pharmaceutical facilities. Hot Taps can be
performed on angles, elbows, tanks, vessels and
more.
Bolt-On Fittings for Hot
Taps
Pro Tapping offers a cost effective way
to perform a Hot Tap when welding is prohibited.
The perfect solution is a Bolt-On Hot Tap
fitting that can be used in restricted areas of
office buildings, computer rooms and hospitals
with installations on copper, brass and carbon
steel pipes. Our experience with Bolt-On Hot Tap
fittings ranges from complex refinery jobs to
competitive HVAC work. We can customize the
Bolt-On Hot Tap application to fit your
needs.
Hot Tapping for Probe and Flow
Meter Installations
Pro Tapping provides Hot Taps that allow
you the ability to install your probe and flow
meters in a live line. The installation of a
flow meter in your line allows you to monitor
the temperature, pressure and percentage of a
specific product in the line.
Hot Tapping for Thermowell
Installations
Thermowells are the most versatile
devices used to protect your probe and flow
meter sensors from damage. In addition, a
defective probe or flow meter sensor may be
removed without shutting down or draining the
entire system. Pro Tapping can install your
Thermowell through our custom designed and built
Thermowell fittings. We maintain an inventory of
these high pressure Thermowell fittings in the
most common sizes.

Wet
Taps
Wet Taps, or Corporation Taps, are
different names for the same process. Most Wet
Tap connections are into water and sewer mains
and can be performed while your system remains
live and under working pressure. Wet Taps allow
for a new branch connection without any
interruption of service or flow.
Pro Tapping performs Wet Taps from 4” to
36”, 360° around the main. Wet Taps are
generally performed on cast and ductile iron,
transite (ACP), polyvinyl chloride and concrete
cylinder pipe as well as many older pipeline
materials.
Corporation
Taps
Corporation Wet Taps are performed on any
main size with an outlet of 2” or less. Most
Corporation Taps are performed for residential
or commercial services. For your convenience we
can also provide the 90° (elbow) off the
corporation as well as the curb stop and curb
box.

Line
Stops
Line Stops are a way of stopping flow and
providing a temporary shutoff. Line Stops
are used to isolate piping systems or sections
for repairs, alterations or relocations without
shutting the entire system down. This process
serves as a control, or temporary shutoff, that
can be removed after all modifications have been
completed. In many cases the fitting left
in place during the service can be used again at
a later date for a re-stop.
Pro Tapping performs Line Stops from ¾”
to 36” on lines with a working pressure up to
1,000 PSI and up to 400°F. Line Stops are
generally performed on carbon, stainless and
galvanized steel, copper and brass, cast and
ductile iron, transite (ACP), polyvinyl
chloride, concrete cylinder pipe and additional
pipeline materials per customer request. We also
offer bolt-on fittings for line stops if you
cannot weld.
Line Stops with Optional By-Pass
Tapping
This service may be required if product
flow must be continuous while the Line Stop is
in place. The product flow can be continued
around the isolated section of pipe to be
modified. This optional By-Pass Tapping can be
provided permanently or temporarily.

Pipe
Freezes
Pipe Freezes are a non-invasive and
non-contaminating pipeline process that allows
you to temporarily freeze and thus isolate a
section of your piping system. Most industrial
and commercial applications involving valve
replacements, system maintenance and
modifications can benefit from the use of Pipe
Freezes. They allow ability to make repairs,
alterations or relocations without a complete
shutdown or drain down of your system.
Pipe Freezing is performed by isolating
the pipeline with a pipe freeze jacket that is
bolted onto the line to be frozen. Liquid
nitrogen is then released into the pipe freeze
jacket, allowing a solid ice plug to form. This
plug is safely maintained and monitored by our
Pipe Freeze Technicians throughout the freezing
process. Once the repairs are complete and the
ice plug thaws, your line is back in operation.
Pipe Freezing can be performed on a
variety of pipeline materials including carbon
and stainless steel, transite (ACP), cast and
ductile iron, aluminum, copper, lead, titanium
and coated or lined pipe in sizes ranging from
½” to 48”. The lines can be vertical,
horizontal, inclined and
out-of-round.
Valve
Insertions
Pro Tapping is pleased to introduce the
best and newest valve insertion system – the EZ
Valve Insertion. The EZ Valve Insertion is a
true resilient wedge, ductile iron gate valve.
The EZ Valve Insertion is currently available in
sizes 4” to 12” with larger sizes coming soon!
The EZ Valve Insertion can be performed on
cast/ductile iron, PVC C900 and ACP Class
100/150 with installation time frames in under
two (2) hours total time – start to finish. Call
